CELEBRITY READ A THON AT HIP HOP CULTURE CENTER

Yesterday, NYFab! had the great pleasure of attending the Celebrity Read-A-Thon for Harlem students. Over 300 elementary school students from the Harlem area gathered at the Hip Hop Culture Center on the second floor of the Magic Johnson Theatres (2309 Fredrick Douglass Ave.) retail complex.

This momentous occasion was a morning dedicated to encouraging literacy among youngsters in the Harlem area. The annual event is part of an ongoing commitment by Harlem USA to encourage literacy and academic achievement through a variety of events and programs which also include an annual Kids Chess Tournament and a series of art exhibits.

It was a beautiful event and we were honored to be in attendance with such incredibly bright kids!
