I must admit I was pretty excited to attend the Mary J. Blige "exclusive" party last night at Spotlight Live ( 49th and Broadway). Alot of my industry colleague's were planning on going and even some co-workers so I knew it would be a great night. Not to mention Mary and her peeps would also be in the building.

Upon arrival I was happy to see that everyone put on their Fab! best and the crowd was looking good. The invitation insisted that everyone must be dressed to the nines...and the crowd did not disappoint, well in the beginning anyway.

Although everything seemed to be organized at the front door at first, it turned out to be an absolute mess! You ever heard the saying; "if you give people an inch, they take a mile?" Well this is exactly what happened with the security guards and DSA Media who ran the event.

Although the party was "invite only" they let people in who were NOT on the list, matter of fact they didn't even check the list for names, didn't check i.d.'s, NOTHING. They just let people in. I was through when I saw random people off the street hopping on line and actually being allowed into the party.

So we finally get in after all the chaos at the front door and go upstairs to let loose with the party people. I was back in a great mood and decided to go back downstairs to visit some friends. One of the security guards notices my digital camera in my hand and proceeds to tell me I can't go back upstairs with the camera....HUH?

I proceed to give him a piece of my mind and go get Dante one of the event organizers who quickly puts this WACK security guard in his place!
We make our way back upstairs and start partying again only to see people dressed in jeans, low cut tops, and flat boots and others looking a mess. I must say this has to be one of the worse "industry" parties that I have ever been too. The majority of the security guards were incredibly rude and it was no where near an exclusive event.

The only good thing about that party was Mary J. getting down to the old school hits and the Retro Kids tearing up the dance floor. Day 26 and Nelly were also in the building...ehhhhh.
Overall I give DSA Media and Spotlight a FAB 2.
So disappointed!
