RECAP: AFRICAN LIBERATION AT HABANA OUTPOST

I was excited to head down to Habana Outpost (757 Fulton) with my crew on Saturday to reunite with others and shop at the Black Art Museum exhibit. Although the sun was shining it was still quite windy and that kind of put a damper on the day.

However, I knew once I arrived at Habana it would be packed and it would bring our spirits back up...wrong! Although we arrived after 3 p.m. there were maybe 30 people chillin at the tables which was abnormal for Habana on a Saturday afternoon. Although I was disappointed with the crowd, I was feeling much better after my frozen mojitio (mmm). Since my friends and I were starving we decided that we'd order lots of Habana's famous Cuban food, but of course they were only serving corn, chips, and rice at the time. I was so upset I ran across the street and ordered a pizza (lol-and I had the corn to).

As time passed, more people walked in and the d.j. was playing all the old school hits. Just as I was getting into my two step, I looked over to see my boy talking to Ya Ya (ANTM runner up) and one of her friends. That's the thing about Habana, you never know who you're going to run into.

Overall, I ended up having a great time once the wind stopped blowing, the music started blasting, and people rolled in. If you haven' t been yet, I highly suggest you go.
