A.Well, I’m actually a very laid back dude from the south side of Chicago. However, I’ve always had a go getter mentality. I’ve been working since I was 13 years old and I‘ve never stopped. I’m hungry... always looking for what’s next. I started as Brandon’s manager in college, moved to NYC, and I’m still working hard every day.
Q. Out of everything that you’ve accomplished so far what are you most proud of?
A. There are a lot of things that I’m proud of but most importantly I’m proud of the person I’m becoming. In this industry it’s hard to stay true to yourself but you have to remember to have good character, a great work ethic and lots of passion; believe in God and you’ll be good!
Q.You’ve been a New Yorker for a while now, what do you love most about this city?
A. New York is the city of opportunity. I can be walking down the street and run into amazing people. For example Brandon and I were having dinner the other night and ran into Robin Thicke, Andre Harrell and a few others. [We] were able to network just like that. I’m motivated everyday. It’s such an energetic city and only the strong survive.
Q. Who’s your favorite designer?
A. I’m more of the sample sale dude. I like stuff that no one else has on. I can’t just choose one. I do like to shop at Barneys though.
Q. Tell us a about your artist Brandon Hines?
A. Brandon is NEXT. He’s dope, he’s really come a long way. Brandon is from Detroit and has a unique tone. He has so much power and is really dedicated to his craft. Most upcoming artist have a 9-5 but Brandon’s work is his music; he’s really blessed like that.

Q. Who's your biggest inspiration and why?
A. My mother; I’m very close with both of my parents but my mother has gone through a lot in her life...to see where she is today sets the bar. There’s nothing more beautiful than a strong black woman who can maintain and hold her own.
Q.What tips can you give aspiring artist, producers, managers out there trying to break into the entertainment industry?
A. You have to be passionate, consistent, persistent and patient. Having faith in yourself and really knowing that you have that "it" factor. You have to believe as an artist that you are hot or you’ll get broken. Everyone has a lane; you have to figure out what sets yours apart.
Q. What keeps you motivated to keep on going everyday?
A. I read a book called "The Secret" four months ago; it’s a great book. "The Secret" speaks about the secret of life and how you need to have a positive outlook and not focus on the negative things. I do have bad days but I’m learning that it’s a blessing to be stressed, to be getting phone calls, to have critics; it’s humbling.
Q. What’s the biggest lesson you learned while attending Howard University?
A. Howard is like a microcosm of the real world; it really taught me how to network. I went to the School of Business and had to wear a suit every Tuesday and Thursday. It taught me professionalism, which is lacking in the entertainment industry today. Most importantly I learned how to let my network work for me and how to cultivate relationships.
Q. Lastly, Kevin tell us why you’re fabulous?
A. Although I’m very humbled to be where I am, I think I’m on the road to greatness. I’m constantly trying to build my character and being a manager is not an easy task so it tests me. Everyday I’m blessed. I’m on my way and I say that with all the confidence in the world.
