Education Fab| Revolution 67'

This week at the Schoomberg Center (515 Malcolm X Blvd.) they will be featuring the documentary, Revolution '67 on Thursday, April 17, 2008 7:00 p.m.

Civic Frame, a nonprofit organization that uses art and intellectual work to promote civic engagement presents a screening of Revolution '67, a documentary that explores the 1967 black urban rebellion in Newark, New Jersey and reveals how the disturbance began as spontaneous revolts against poverty and police brutality and ended as fateful milestones in America's struggles over racial justice.

April Yvonne Garrett, Civic Frame founder and president, will moderate a discussion with the filmmakers Marylou Tibaldo-Bongiorno and Jerome Bongiorno and the audience. Special attention will be given to the similarities between the Newark rebellion of 1967 and the Harlem rebellion of 1964.
