My favorite store in the whole, wide world turned 150 today, and they are celebrating in fashion!

Terry Lundgren, Herald Square Macy's Manager Patti Lee and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn)Tonight's major gala is scheduled to take place at Gotham Hall....with special guests including: Diddy, Jessica Simpson, Martha Stewart, Kenneth Cole, & many more expected to be there. There will also be a special birthday cake designed by Duff from Ace of Cakes. The finale will kick off with fireworks on the roof of the store, and the Empire State Building will be lit red in honor of this amazing milestone.
Among the various activities of the day, Macy's will rename 34th Street (the location of the Herald Square flagship) to "R.H. Macy Way" in honor of the Macy's founder. The unveiling of the street sign took place this morning, and the temp sign will be available for view until November 15th.
Congrats MACY's!!! May you see another 150 years :-) [although idk if my charge card can deal lol]
