Hey out there NYFab! fans. It was a working weekend for us so we didn't get to hit up ALL the parties. However, NYFab! correspondent Linsey Nicole checked out the new Saturday nightspot, BB Kings (237 W. 42nd Street). Check out her recap below:
Greetings fellow fabulites!
So I don't know about you, but I rarely frequent Times Square in search of nightlife fun. It's something about the tourists, lack of free parking, and scarce party options that turns me off. Yet, behold...a hot party at BB Kings? Could this be a Miracle on 42nd Street??
Not so fast.
While overall BB Kings "Saturday Nightlive" is definitely worth checking out, there were a few jewels missing that prevented this party from being truly FABULOUS. The price at the door was a little steep. Fellas had to pay $30 and ladies $20. At midnight, the club still wasn't jumpin' like it should have been. And coat check was at capacity, forcing people to carry their coats or drape them over banisters! GASP!
Admittedly, I've never been to BB Kings before this. Sure, I've heard that legends have rocked out in here, but was extremely skeptical about their ability to create a worthwhile party experience. I was pleasantly surprised that soon after midnight the party was jumping, the DJ was on point, and there were plenty of fabulously dressed party-goers. There was even a celeb sighting when N.O.R.E. (for all those who remember him…) stepped in the VIP area.
So, although it was no miracle on 42nd street, it was definitely a good time.
Overall Fab Rating: B+
